Why does the Vortex V3 exist? The Light Phone targets those who want premium minimalist phones, but the Vortex V3 is a budget flip phone, retailing on Amazon for just $40. Unlike the Light Phone, it runs a semi-full version of Android 11. So, who is this phone for?
While it technically supports Android features, the Vortex V3's skin is clunky, with a frustrating GUI and cumbersome app navigation. The hardware is equally lackluster. Unlike the iconic, though overhyped, Motorola Razr, this phone is made of cheap plastic, resulting in creaky keys. On the plus side, it’s extremely lightweight.
The microphone is surprisingly decent (suggesting good call quality, though I didn’t test it with a SIM card). Still, the phone has flaws: typing is awkward, the camera is terrible, and installing apps is a hassle. So why does this phone exist? Is it banking on Razr nostalgia? The low price? What market is there for a subpar flip phone like the Vortex V3?
Wanna buy it? Buy from me, on eBay!!
God bless and Tech Talk To You Later!!
