How to Set Perplexity as Your Default Assistant on a Samsung Phone
If you want to change the default assistant on your Android phone from Gemini to another option, such as Perplexity or Samsung's Bixby, here's how to do it on a Samsung device. This is useful if you have another AI application like Perplexity and want to access it quickly on your screen. It can also be helpful for running an AI influencer account, where you might want to emulate real-life people's outfits or create prompts based on them, as shown in this video.
Ensure Perplexity is installed on your device. Then, go to Settings and type "assistant" in the search bar. This will appear under Display.
- Scroll to the bottom where it says Default Digital Assistant App and toggle it on. This will display the available assistant options. Select Perplexity. Now, you can swipe on the screen to bring up Perplexity while still keeping Circle to Search active.
To describe an outfit or person on the screen, simply ask Perplexity to do so. Now you can emulate your favorite influencers, whether AI or real.
