Hello, this is TheTechBoy with Samsung press release.

SEOUL, South Korea – May 22, 2025– Samsung Electronics today announced The Premiere 5, a revolutionary projector poised to redefine home entertainment by transforming everyday surfaces like floors and tables into interactive touchscreens. The new device combines ultra-short throw technology with advanced touch capabilities, offering users a versatile and immersive experience, from a 100-inch cinematic display on a wall to a 40-inch interactive surface at their fingertips.

"Expanding the projection surface naturally broadens the range of use,” said Jaeyoung Park of Samsung's Visual Display Business, highlighting the core innovation behind The Premiere 5.

The compact, "ultra cute" projector utilizes cutting-edge triple laser technology to deliver vivid, pure color images. Its ultra-short throw capabilities mean it can project a massive 100-inch screen from just 17 inches away from a wall, minimizing shadow interference and making it suitable for even confined spaces. When aimed at a floor or tabletop with the included Touch Stand, it creates up to a 40-inch interactive display.

Seung-Hyun Moon from the New Projector Lab explained, “We applied ultra-short throw technology so the projector can still deliver a large screen even when placed very close to the wall. A specially designed aspheric mirror bends the light path by more than 90 degrees, allowing light to spread evenly across the surface.”

Key to its smart functionality are two built-in cameras employing 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology. These cameras automatically detect the projection surface's shape and distance, enabling real-time auto focus and auto keystone correction for a perfectly aligned rectangular image without manual adjustments.

The standout feature, touch interaction, is enabled when the projector is laid horizontally with its magnetic Touch Stand attached. "The Premiere 5 was developed with the idea that touch is the most intuitive way to interact with screens — especially for users who are already familiar with smartphones and tablets,” stated Yuri Kim from Innovative Product Planning. The system uses an infrared (IR) laser and IR camera to create a screen map, detecting touch points with precision after extensive calibration.

The vertical tower design of The Premiere 5 is a departure from traditional projectors, aiming for a refined appearance that blends into home décor. "We aimed for a design that would blend naturally into any space... like a beautiful vase," Kim added. This design also posed engineering challenges, requiring components to be meticulously stacked.

Despite its compact form, The Premiere 5 delivers robust audio with 10W stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. It can also pair with Samsung's Music Frame speaker via Q-Symphony for an enhanced soundscape.

Samsung envisions diverse applications for The Premiere 5. Users can mirror mobile content onto a table for interactive use, follow recipes projected onto a kitchen island with touch controls, engage with Samsung Health workout videos on the floor, or explore touch-based educational and casual games through the "Enjoy With Family" section within Smart TV features.

“My goal is to deliver a new level of immersion — one that makes users feel as if they’re truly inside the screen, not just watching it,” Kim remarked on her future aspirations.

Jaeyoung Park concluded, “The new value of projectors lies in their ability to transform any surface into a screen. We will continue to overcome the limitations of projection surfaces through innovation.”

The Premiere 5, complete with its SolarCell Remote and Touch Stand, signals Samsung's commitment to pushing the boundaries of home entertainment, merging high-quality projection with intuitive, everyday interaction.

God bless and tech talk to you later!!
