Samsung Electronics has announced a new collaboration with Porsche, integrating Digital Key functionality into Samsung Wallet. This allows owners of select Porsche vehicles to lock, unlock, and start their cars using a compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

The feature launches first with the Porsche Macan (Model Year 2026), with support extending to the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric in 2026 and additional models thereafter.

Users can access their vehicle through Samsung Wallet's unified interface, alongside IDs, payment cards, and other keys. A simple swipe-up gesture provides quick access without needing to switch apps.

“We are pleased to bring Samsung Galaxy users a richer digital experience through our collaboration with Porsche,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung's Mobile eXperience Business. “Connecting mobile phones and vehicles through Digital Keys reflects the seamless convenience that Samsung Galaxy stands for.”
Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan at Porsche, added: “For the first time at Porsche, we’re introducing Digital Key in our newest electric models, Macan and Cayenne. Through our collaboration with Samsung, we’re combining innovation with everyday convenience. It’s a perfect reflection of how technology can enhance the premium driving experience.”

Additional safeguards include remote key management via Samsung Find if a device is lost, plus biometric or PIN authentication backed by Samsung Knox defense-grade security.

The rollout begins this month in Europe, with a global expansion aligned to Porsche vehicle launches in markets including Australia, Canada, South Korea, the United States, and others.
